A May 24th International Women’s Day for
Peace and Disarmament is produced annually in co-operation with the
International Peace Bureau. The pack highlights women’s peacebuilding
activities and strategies. Depending upon the theme the pack is translated
into different languages: a pack focusing on African women’s peacebuilding
appeared in French and English; a pack on women’s peacebuilding
in the southern Caucasus appeared in English with Russian summaries;
the pack for 2004 on women’s peacebuilding in the Middle East
appeared in Arabic and English. The pack has stimulated women’s
peace activities around May 24.
